From the reviews
When the owner of THE pearl (the wellness center in Columbia, MD where I work) suggested we add bungee fitness to our movement schedule, I researched training options online. Wren, owner of Grounded Aerial, was very responsive and set up a reasonably priced in-person training for my team of teachers.
When my 79 year old mother suggested we do a bungee aerial class, I was a little hesitant, but WOW! What an awesome experience. We were a group of 5 (three in their 70's, and two in their 50's) and were all beginners. We laughed the entire class and had a blast.
I’m nine classes in and I’m loving it. It’s such a release, and at the same time it’s a thrill. I was intimidated at first but that went away with the first (or second) bounce. My body loves this workout and my giggles get a workout too. Wren is an amazing teacher. I highly recommend these classes.
Grounded Aerial Bungee is pure joy! I’ve done bungee for 6 years, and it’s the only workout I truly love. It’s fun, freeing, and also a lesson in trust and taking risks—just like life. Plus, the owner, Wren Fuhrman, is amazing—her energy and passion make the experience memorable. Highly recommend!
Your first pole class at Grounded Aerial
Nervous about your first pole class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects total beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. You don't need to be strong, flexible, or thin to start — pole builds all of that, and your first class is about learning to spin, walk the pole, and hold on, not inverting on day one. What to expect: a warm-up, some conditioning, and a few basic spins or a short combo — it's a real full-body workout, so expect to sweat and to feel it in your arms and core the next day. Rest whenever you need to; no one is watching or judging. What to wear: shorts and a tank or sports bra — bare skin on your arms, legs, and stomach is what grips the pole, so save the leggings for aerial or floorwork. Skip the lotion the day of class; it makes the pole slippery. Grip aids: most studios keep grip liquid (Dry Hands / iTac) on hand, and knee pads make floorwork comfy — ask at the front desk. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people leave their first class already planning the next one.
