From the reviews
This studio is great! The community is so inviting and supportive. As a male it can be intimidating to start going to yoga, but I felt at home after the first class. I enjoy this studio so much that I now have my wife and sister-in-law signed up and attending classes.
I have been doing power yoga with Angie from Concrete Yoga for nine weeks now and I am feeling great. I am able to ride my bike a lot longer than I was able to two months ago. I have gotten a lot stronger and my body is trimming down. I recommend power yoga for anyone who would like to work hard to get in shape.
Being on a strict Dave Ramsey diet, my husband and I had been on the look out for free or cheap date night ideas. As a result, I totally manifested two free tickets to Wine Down Wednesday via Facebook! Angela hosted and it was "the best, to say the least"!** The class was fun, spirited, and laid back.
I recently PCS’d here with the Army and live local to Concrete Yoga on Randolph AFB. I’d been eyeing the studio for awhile and finally decided to try it. I wasn’t disappointed. Great location. Angela is awesome. This is a perfect environment for beginners and avid yogis alike. Everyone is super friendly.
Your first pole class at CONCRETE YOGA
Nervous about your first pole class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects total beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. You don't need to be strong, flexible, or thin to start — pole builds all of that, and your first class is about learning to spin, walk the pole, and hold on, not inverting on day one. What to expect: a warm-up, some conditioning, and a few basic spins or a short combo — it's a real full-body workout, so expect to sweat and to feel it in your arms and core the next day. Rest whenever you need to; no one is watching or judging. What to wear: shorts and a tank or sports bra — bare skin on your arms, legs, and stomach is what grips the pole, so save the leggings for aerial or floorwork. Skip the lotion the day of class; it makes the pole slippery. Grip aids: most studios keep grip liquid (Dry Hands / iTac) on hand, and knee pads make floorwork comfy — ask at the front desk. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people leave their first class already planning the next one.
