The classes they teach
“I was hesitant about taking exotic dance classes as this is so out of my comfort zone, and I could be accused of being a little "preppy".”
“Since last year, I have gone from a complete beginner to performing in the studio showcase, a goal that I set with Annie when I started.”
“She teaches everything- pole, burlesque, feather fans, props, floorwork, chair dance- the possibilities are endless and there is SO much to learn!”

What students say again and again
“Since last year, I have gone from a complete beginner to performing in the studio showcase, a goal that I set with Annie when I started.”
“Annie is a great teacher, providing just enough background and fundamentals before learning choreography, and then leaving time for some improv at the end.”
“I could not ask for a better teacher who is always working with me to build my confidence and make me into an authentic performer, and I’m always excited to show up and learn more.”
“You drive the curriculum - to do as much or as little as you want - while having fun, getting a good workout and seeing yourself as you never have before!”
“We're working in a curriculum that feels structured and supportive, and it's been so fun to learn these new skills with someone so experienced!”
From the reviews
There are not enough words to say about Annie and the work that she does with you. I was looking for someone to help me be comfortable with myself and my presentation for competitions that I do. I was immediately drawn to Annie's webpage and after we met for the first time, I knew that she was it.
AFV Exotic Arts is an absolutely wonderful studio, and I would give it ten stars if that were an option! Annie an excellent instructor- every class is tailored to each specific person's goals. I have been taking classes for a year, and it never fails- I always walk out of each class feeling like I am on cloud nine.
AMAZING! I was hesitant about taking exotic dance classes as this is so out of my comfort zone, and I could be accused of being a little "preppy". Annie (the instructor) has been so amazing and really helped me learn. The studio is clean, professional, and very nice.
Annie is AMAZING! I’m the matron of honor in my best friend’s wedding and we spent the weekend in Charlotte for her bachelorette party. We hired Annie to come to our Airbnb to teach us a chair dance and to say she was incredible would be an understatement! She made us feel so comfortable and she is made it SO FUN.
Bachelorette & private parties at AFV Exotic Arts, LLC
AFV Exotic Arts, LLC comes up for private parties — confirmed on their own site. A pole party is one of the most-booked ways to celebrate a bachelorette, birthday, or girls' night, and it's a blast even if nobody in the group has ever touched a pole. A few things worth asking when you reach out. First, group size and what's included — most studios run private parties for around 6–15 people with a dedicated instructor, a beginner-friendly routine, and time for photos. Second, the vibe you want — sassy heels-and-flow choreography, playful spins and tricks, or a mix; a good studio tailors it to the guest of honor. Third, booking and pricing — parties are usually a flat package booked in advance, and popular weekend slots fill up fast, so ask about deposits and what to wear (shorts for grip, no lotion). It's beginner-friendly by design, judgment-free, and genuinely fun — exactly the kind of thing everyone talks about afterward.
Your first pole class at AFV Exotic Arts, LLC
Nervous about your first pole class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects total beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. You don't need to be strong, flexible, or thin to start — pole builds all of that, and your first class is about learning to spin, walk the pole, and hold on, not inverting on day one. What to expect: a warm-up, some conditioning, and a few basic spins or a short combo — it's a real full-body workout, so expect to sweat and to feel it in your arms and core the next day. Rest whenever you need to; no one is watching or judging. What to wear: shorts and a tank or sports bra — bare skin on your arms, legs, and stomach is what grips the pole, so save the leggings for aerial or floorwork. Skip the lotion the day of class; it makes the pole slippery. Grip aids: most studios keep grip liquid (Dry Hands / iTac) on hand, and knee pads make floorwork comfy — ask at the front desk. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people leave their first class already planning the next one.
