From the reviews
I cannot recommend Destiny at The Silhaus enough for anyone looking for a patient and kind one-on-one yoga instructor. For years, I have wanted to try yoga, but every time I've attempted to join a group class, I've felt confused and uncomfortable. But private classes are usually so expensive.
Home. That’s the first feeling you will experience once you enter The Silhaus. The space is not only clean and aesthetically pleasing but the energetic maintenance is top tier. The owner has an eye for detail which is embodied through the space and the movement curriculum.
I take private pole lessons with Destiny, and she is absolutely amazing! She always creates a space where I feel completely welcome to explore and be myself. She’s helped me refine my transitions and fine-tune the details of my technique tremendously.
It was my first time trying pole dancing, I was nervous at first but destiny made the experience so memorable! I did the semi private session with a friend! She had so much patience and did an amazing job at teaching us both and giving each of us the same amount of practice!
Your first pole class at The Silhaus | Pole Dance & Yoga Tampa
Nervous about your first pole class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects total beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. You don't need to be strong, flexible, or thin to start — pole builds all of that, and your first class is about learning to spin, walk the pole, and hold on, not inverting on day one. What to expect: a warm-up, some conditioning, and a few basic spins or a short combo — it's a real full-body workout, so expect to sweat and to feel it in your arms and core the next day. Rest whenever you need to; no one is watching or judging. What to wear: shorts and a tank or sports bra — bare skin on your arms, legs, and stomach is what grips the pole, so save the leggings for aerial or floorwork. Skip the lotion the day of class; it makes the pole slippery. Grip aids: most studios keep grip liquid (Dry Hands / iTac) on hand, and knee pads make floorwork comfy — ask at the front desk. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people leave their first class already planning the next one.
