My bridal party and I had a wonderful time attending the pole experience for part 1 of my bachelorette festivities. AJ was our instructor and he was very energetic, friendly, welcoming and patient with us. He took us step by step and made every experience fun and memorable!
I experienced my first pole studio experience this past week and it was tough but so fun! The instructor was amazing. Very flexible and welcoming. Excited to join another class! Looking forward to visiting the pole experience again soon!
I had a great first time at the pole experience. I felt very welcome as soon as I walked in. Also my instructor Tokyo was great! She was patient with me and also pushed me to push myself to get out my comfort zone and I was so surprised what I could do as a result of her instruction.
Amazing is an understatement! This was my first time ever touching a pole and Shemika made me feel like I was a pro. The girls and I enjoyed it from the time we were greeted. She was overly kind, patient and professional. I have a lot to learn but I’m sooooo excited to build with her as my instructor for this journey.
Your first pole class at The Pole Experience Dance Fitness Studio
Nervous about your first pole class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects total beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. You don't need to be strong, flexible, or thin to start — pole builds all of that, and your first class is about learning to spin, walk the pole, and hold on, not inverting on day one. What to expect: a warm-up, some conditioning, and a few basic spins or a short combo — it's a real full-body workout, so expect to sweat and to feel it in your arms and core the next day. Rest whenever you need to; no one is watching or judging. What to wear: shorts and a tank or sports bra — bare skin on your arms, legs, and stomach is what grips the pole, so save the leggings for aerial or floorwork. Skip the lotion the day of class; it makes the pole slippery. Grip aids: most studios keep grip liquid (Dry Hands / iTac) on hand, and knee pads make floorwork comfy — ask at the front desk. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people leave their first class already planning the next one.
