I took a intro to pole dancing class and it's was the best dancing experience I have had!!!! She warms you up and talks about the importance of certain stretches that are needed to pole dance and she breaks it down beautifully.
For a first time trying pole this was the place to go. They were very friendly and for the beginner class kept it easy and fun. It’s a inclusive environment for all experience levels and reasons to go. Bring a bachelorette party, get a good workout, do it just to shake what your mama gave you
The cost of lessons is amazing. The instructors are wonderful. I have loved each and every instructor thus far. They each have their own unique personality, which plays a major role in their teaching style. They are extremely helpful and they really know their stuff.
Liz is great! She's very good at gauging where you are and what you're capable of learning at that particular time in your journey. This is definitely the studio to go to if you're serious about learning pole and progressing. Class times fit amazingly into my schedule.
Your first pole class at RI Pole Space
Nervous about your first pole class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects total beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. You don't need to be strong, flexible, or thin to start — pole builds all of that, and your first class is about learning to spin, walk the pole, and hold on, not inverting on day one. What to expect: a warm-up, some conditioning, and a few basic spins or a short combo — it's a real full-body workout, so expect to sweat and to feel it in your arms and core the next day. Rest whenever you need to; no one is watching or judging. What to wear: shorts and a tank or sports bra — bare skin on your arms, legs, and stomach is what grips the pole, so save the leggings for aerial or floorwork. Skip the lotion the day of class; it makes the pole slippery. Grip aids: most studios keep grip liquid (Dry Hands / iTac) on hand, and knee pads make floorwork comfy — ask at the front desk. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people leave their first class already planning the next one.
